13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum

Dr. Almudena Azcárate Ortega, SWF Senior Program Analyst, will participate in the 13th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, taking place September 15–17, 2026, in Beijing, China.
The forum will be hosted by the China Association for Military Science and the China Institute for International Strategic Studies under the theme “Build Consensus On Stability, Advance Security Governance Together.”
The Beijing Xiangshan Forum is one of China’s highest-profile annual international security and defense conferences. It brings together military personnel, defense officials, government representatives, and global security experts to discuss regional and international security issues.
Azcárate Ortega has been invited to speak on space security law and policy issues during the conference. Final agenda details have not yet been released, and additional speaking opportunities may be confirmed closer to the event.
Her participation will support SWF’s work on space security, international law, and responsible behavior in outer space. The forum also provides an opportunity to engage with non-Western perspectives on security governance and to strengthen regional and international connections on space security policy.
