Event Description
Secure World Foundation (SWF) will host a workshop at the 2026 GEOINT Symposium exploring how the global space community can support sustainable space activities while enabling the continued growth of new and emerging space actors.
This session will introduce the updated Handbook for New Actors in Space, a practical resource designed to help governments, companies, universities, and other stakeholders understand the key principles, norms, and best practices for responsible space operations.
As access to space expands, so do the challenges associated with maintaining a safe and sustainable space environment. Issues such as orbital congestion, radio-frequency interference, space debris, and increasing geopolitical tensions highlight the importance of informed and responsible participation in space activities.
The workshop will provide an overview of current trends shaping the space sector, including developments in policy, technology, and the broader operating environment. Participants will gain practical insights into how to apply best practices for space sustainability and navigate an increasingly complex space landscape.
