Space Sustainability and Space Diplomacy from an Asia-Pacific Lens
Secure World Foundation (SWF) and the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington, DC, will co-host “Space Sustainability and Space Diplomacy from an Asia-Pacific Lens: Priorities, Goals, and Gaps” on October 13, 2026.
The event will bring together experts and stakeholders to explore evolving priorities for space sustainability and space diplomacy across the Asia-Pacific region. As countries throughout the region expand their civil space activities, develop their space sectors, and increase their participation in international space discussions, the program will examine opportunities to strengthen regional engagement and international cooperation in support of the long-term sustainable use of outer space.
Discussions will highlight regional priorities and perspectives, efforts to advance space diplomacy, and areas where greater international dialogue and cooperation can help address emerging challenges and support secure, sustainable, and equitable access to space.
Nik Mazlina binti Nik Mustapha, Deputy Director General (Technical and Operational Services) of the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), will participate as a featured speaker, with additional speakers to be confirmed.
The seminar will take place from 3:00–6:00 p.m. at the Embassy of Malaysia in Washington, DC, followed by a networking reception. Please RSVP by Oct. 11 to rsvpembassymalaysiadc@gmail.com.
