Secure World Foundation will participate in the International Space Summit, taking place September 9–10, 2026, at the Grand Palais in Paris, France.
Victoria Samson, SWF Chief Director, Space Security and Stability, and Almudena Azcárate Ortega, SWF Senior Program Analyst and UNIDIR Space Security Programme Fellow, will represent SWF at the summit.
Hosted by France, the International Space Summit will bring together public and private actors, civil society representatives, and members of the scientific community to discuss current challenges in space. The summit will focus on innovation, security, and sustainability, with programming that addresses security and defense, the space economy, science and exploration, and the preservation of the space environment.
Samson will participate in a fireside chat on “Threat Perceptions,” currently scheduled for September 9 from 2:35–3:30 p.m. CEST. The discussion will examine the current strategic context in outer space.
Azcárate Ortega will participate in a pitch discussion on “Strategic Research: Ensuring Collective Security in Space,” currently scheduled for September 10 from 4:30–5:30 p.m. CEST. The discussion will examine research topics related to collective security in space, drawing on the expertise of participants from across the space community.
