On August 5, Director of Space Applications Programs, Krystal Azelton, moderated a webinar on SDG 3: Good Health and Wellbeing. This panel highlighted projects that have incorporated Earth observation data to promote public health in many areas ranging from disease prevention to healthcare delivery to COVID-19 response.

It featured speakers from Planet, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Rio de Janeiro-based Pereira Passos Institute. They shared examples of real-world applications of space data to address injustice around the world and examined pathways of collaboration and coordination between agencies and organizations working on this topic. Projects discussed included COVID dashboards, vaccine campaign support, and disease risk analysis—all supported by space data. A recording of the vent with subtitles can be viewed here.
