Ian Christensen, Senior Director, Private Sector Programs at Secure World Foundation (SWF), will represent SWF at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Study Group 4 Working Party 4A Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, in October 2026.
SWF is an associate member of Working Party 4A, which focuses on the efficient use of orbital and spectrum resources for fixed-satellite and broadcasting-satellite services. The meeting will bring together international experts and representatives to discuss technical and regulatory issues related to satellite communications and the sustainable use of orbit and frequency resources.
Ahead of the meeting, SWF will prepare an input contribution to the ITU's Handbook on Sustainable Use of Orbit and Frequencies. Coordinated by Christensen with contributions from SWF program staff, the submission will build on SWF's previous work to support responsible and sustainable satellite operations. Christensen is also expected to present the contribution during the meeting.
SWF's participation reflects its ongoing commitment to advancing international cooperation, promoting responsible management of orbital and spectrum resources, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the space environment.
