2023 Annual Report
The 2023 Annual Report provides a comprehensive overview of Secure World Foundation’s efforts to advance space sustainability, space security, and the peaceful use of outer space through global engagement, research, and policy development. The report highlights SWF’s role as a leader in promoting space governance and international space cooperation across a wide range of activities and initiatives.
In 2023, SWF conducted over 100 project and outreach activities worldwide, convening multi-stakeholder dialogues and major events such as the 5th Summit for Space Sustainability, which brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to address challenges including orbital debris, responsible behavior in space, and the prevention of destructive ASAT testing.
The report also highlights key publications and tools that support evidence-based space policy, including the Global Counterspace Capabilities Report and the COPUOS Briefing Book, which strengthens engagement within UN COPUOS and broader multilateral fora. Additionally, SWF contributed to advancing space situational awareness and space traffic management discussions through leadership in international conferences and the development of innovative policy models to assess orbital sustainability.
Through partnerships with governments, industry, and international organizations, SWF continues to promote responsible behavior in space and support the development of norms, guidelines, and frameworks that ensure a secure, stable, and sustainable space environment for all actors.
