Secure World Foundation highlights its expanding global role in shaping dialogue around space governance, sustainability, and security, with a focus on contributions that support the UNISPACE+50 thematic priorities. Since its earlier 2017 statements, SWF has:
- Participated in the Hague Space Resources Governance Working Group,
- Co-hosted the Space Security Conference with UNIDIR,
- Joined the Future of Civil Space discussions hosted by the U.S. National Academies, and
- Engaged with GEO, including the 2017 Work Programme Symposium and ISRSE in South Africa.
Other key initiatives include:
- Hosting side events on active debris removal at the European Space Debris Conference.
- Presenting at global fora such as the Space 2.0 conference and the Space for Global Maritime Awareness Workshop in Portugal.
- Collaborating with SGAC, ISU, and CRECTEALC on youth programs and capacity-building workshops across Africa, Latin America, and Asia.
- Submitting testimony to the U.S. Congress on the regulation of commercial space activities.
SWF reinforces its commitment to all UNISPACE+50 themes, including:
- Global partnership in space exploration
- Legal regimes for outer space
- Space object/event information exchange
- International framework for space weather services
- Capacity-building and cooperation for resilient societies
It concludes by calling for full participation from all stakeholders to shape the post-2030 agenda for space governance and its intersection with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
