February 2015 – UN COPUOS STSC: Exchange of Views – Space Sustainability and International Cooperation

This statement reviews Secure World Foundation’s activities since mid-2014 supporting space sustainability, international cooperation, and capacity building. It highlights key initiatives such as a conference on emerging space economies, workshops on Earth observation data policy, and the release of high-resolution SRTM-2 elevation data. SWF also advanced efforts in space situational awareness, near-Earth object hazard communication, and policy discussions on radio frequency interference. Additional events covered on-orbit servicing law, space security dialogues, and local forums addressing maritime domain awareness, space weather, and Arctic development. The statement reaffirms SWF’s commitment to the long-term sustainable and peaceful use of outer space.
