This statement highlights Secure World Foundation’s initiatives in 2012–2013 promoting space sustainability, policy development, and international cooperation. Key activities include engaging with the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) to advance global Earth observation systems, participating in conferences on on-orbit satellite servicing and active debris removal, and supporting workshops with UNOOSA and UN-SPIDER on disaster preparedness and socio-economic benefits of space technology. SWF also contributed to transparency and confidence-building measures (TCBMs) in outer space, co-organized policy dialogues on Europe-China space cooperation, and supported young professionals at the International Astronautical Congress. Additional work included the release of the Space Security Index and capacity-building initiatives to support emerging space states.
