This statement outlines Secure World Foundation’s multi-track contributions to space sustainability, disaster risk reduction, space situational awareness (SSA), and space policy and education between June 2015 and February 2016.

Key highlights include:

  • Handbook for New Actors in Space: Expert workshops and drafting for a comprehensive guide on legal, policy, and operational best practices for new space actors, with publication expected by end of 2016.
  • Disaster Risk Management: Hosting a panel titled From Response to Resilience and supporting UN-SPIDER workshops with participants from multiple countries.
  • SSA and Space Traffic Management: Co-organizing the 3rd annual AMOS Dialogue and leading discussions on improving resilience, norm development, and commercial participation.
  • Youth Engagement: Sponsoring participation in the IAC, Space Generation Congress, and the Manfred Lachs Moot Court, with a focus on small satellites and sustainability.

  • Food and Water Security: Supporting the ISU Southern Hemisphere Program and co-developing a white paper on space’s role in agriculture and water resilience.
  • Planetary Defense: Assisting in planning the 2017 Planetary Defense Conference in Japan.
