SWF Statement – UN COPUOS STSC, Exchange of Views: Space Sustainability, SSA, and Security Dialogues (February 2015)

This statement details Secure World Foundation’s recent work supporting space sustainability, space situational awareness (SSA), and international cooperation. Highlights include a conference on emerging space economies, a workshop on Earth observation data-sharing with the U.S. and Chinese Academies of Sciences, and the release of high-resolution Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM-2) data. It also describes the AMOS Dialogue on SSA, a workshop on Near-Earth Object hazard communication for the International Asteroid Warning Network, and contributions to the International Astronautical Congress. Additional initiatives addressed radio frequency interference, transparency and confidence-building measures in space security, and capacity-building discussions on maritime awareness, space weather, and Arctic development.
