Secure World Foundation will participate in the ESA Zero Debris Future Symposium #3, taking place September 8–9, 2026, at the AEE CREA Building in Seville, Spain.

The symposium is part of Zero Debris Week 2026, which runs September 8–11. This third edition builds on two years of work by the Zero Debris Community, which now includes more than 225 signatories across the space sector.

This year’s Future Symposium will focus on the policy dimension of Zero Debris. Building on community input, ESA plans to propose Policy Working Groups to address non-technical issues such as regulation, commercialization, academia, insurance, and funding.

Alex Shi, SWF Senior Program Analyst, will participate in the symposium. The two-day program will provide an opportunity to reflect on community accomplishments, share challenges and progress toward Zero Debris objectives, and explore commercial and policy questions tied to long-term space sustainability.

The symposium will include high-level discussions, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities. The second day will include dedicated workshops on the first Policy Working Groups.

Participation is limited to around 100 attendees, with priority given to Zero Debris Charter signatories and additional participants whose expertise can contribute to the discussion.
