Secure World Foundation will participate in the 2026 Würzburger Europarechtstage, “The European Union in Outer Space,” hosted by the University of Würzburg from June 15–16 in Würzburg, Germany.
Dr. Almudena Azcárate Ortega, Senior Program Analyst, Space Law and Regulation at SWF, will join the panel “Outer Space as a Domain of Militarization, Conflict and Defence,” where she will speak on space security law.
The conference will examine the future of the European Union’s engagement in outer space as space infrastructure becomes increasingly important to economic activity, communication, navigation, research, and security. Sessions will address satellite mega-constellations, environmental impacts, the militarization of space, orbital security, and the alignment of space activities with the EU’s defense strategy.
