AMOS 2015 Dialogue Report

This report summarizes the 2015 AMOS Dialogue, co hosted by Secure World Foundation and the Maui Economic Development Board during the Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance Technologies Conference in Maui, Hawaii.
The invite only dialogue focused on space traffic management and how current space situational awareness practices can evolve into a more robust, internationally inclusive framework. Participants examined the limits of existing SSA systems, the growing role of commercial operators, and the need for better data sharing among governments and satellite operators.
Discussions emphasized the importance of norms of responsible behavior, transparency, and capacity building as space becomes more congested and diverse. Participants also explored the relationship between national regulations and international coordination, as well as challenges posed by small satellites and emerging commercial activity.
The dialogue highlighted the need for adaptive, evolutionary approaches to space traffic management that balance safety, innovation, and long term sustainability of the space environment.
